Paul ... I've never seen a squirrel look like that before either.

Have definitely seen squirrels look like the below photo link with "rat tail" - including one last week in front of main postal station in Streetsville.

Jo-Anne,

Thanks for your fast reply, I think it resembles the Squirrel fibromatosis when they compare the two.  :(
Very sad to see, but I am going to call my vet tomorrow as I have a golden retriever who has been sick to make sure it doesn't transfer to her.

You're welcome.  Yes, I wondered about that too - especially in regard to the eye and eyelid.  I hope that your "sweetie" dog is going to be ok!

Perhaps you would consider posting your squirrel photos at the following site ...

http://www.thesquirrelboard.com/forums/index.php

Check out their "Specific Ailment Information" category!

I'm sure she'll be just fine, I'll be calling the spca about the squirrel and the vet said that it's a possability esp. since we have had wild rabbits in the yard as well. At least we have another thing to rule out, more options bring more solutions. Again thanks for getting me this information. I'll try to register and post the pictures on the board of that squirrel forum.
Best Regards,
~ Crystal ~

Bah, I'm stuck with this squirrel! I have called SPCA, wild life control, talked to their health board and still no answers. The squirrel keeps comming back and I'm the only person around when it does.
 :( Here's some updated pictures.

Poor squirrel.

If you could call Toronto Wildlife Centre hotline at (416) 631- 0662 they can advise you.  Just leave a message and they will call you back, and likely will ask you to email them the photos.

Thanks,
Chris

Oh, I didn't realize that.  Hopefully they will be able to recommend something, or possibly refer you to someone closer to home.
