Along the outer arm Margaret Liubavicius and I found a dead 22" long Eastern Milk Snake (Lampropetis trianguleum triangleum) with V shaped patch on the nape (collected and frozen). It had apparently been killed by a bicycle.
We also observed a Mink crossing the main road onto the base of Peninsula D. The Milk Snake may be the first for The Spit, I really don't know.
If anyone has any other info on the above species of snake on The Spit or would like to have the specimen (I will keep it for awhile) it is available.
Also seen were 3 Map Turtles and 6 painted Turtles in the Triangle Pond.
