barred owl
on:
November 29, 2009, 04:17:43 PM
was up in presq-isle PP,on sat, with the intention of hopefully finding a barred owl,as there have been quite a few reports of sightings, over the last couple of weeks.we were not dissapointed,as we rounded a curve on the road,in the park, and a small crowd was gathered,on i side of the road, while this owl was on the other.he totally ignored us,as he went about his business,as i witnessed him swoop down,2x,and come up with a vole, which he took to a nearby pine, swallowed it,and returned, all in a time frame of about 5 min.,each.when everyone left,he was still perched there, intent on his hunting!

Great shots Denis. I like #2 for the sole reason that the owl is in a different position than usual.
