I did the Wapoous pennisula area (pennisula directly east of Picton)of the Prince Edward point Christmas bird count today with a cold east wind.

Highlights  no snow to very little on the ground and all inland water was frozen.

Lots of waterfowl. I found several thousand in the open water near all the growing icesheets.
Tundra swans 200+
Osprey 1 really really late juvenile. I guess it never listened to its parents about migrating when the cold weather comes. It looked ok and there is alot of fish in the area it was foraging
9 Bald Eagles ( 4 adults and 5 immatures) at least 2 more birds were also seen on the count west of my area near picton
9 Pine siskins were the only finches i saw.

In the afternoon I birded my favorite sites in Prince edward county and Presqu'ile P.P. on my way home
