dec 31. i went up to member,al johnston,s place,to see his wood ducks, and was not dissapointed.there were 30-40 ducks, including mallards, blacks, and 3 wood ducks(2 male,i female).again the light was not very good for photos, but i managed a few.while sitting inside, nice and warm, overlooking the pond(lake),al told me interesting stories about the varied wildlife, and birds,he,s seen come through,in his 30 years there.the 2 bird feeders in front of the window we were sitting at,reminded me of pearson airport on march break, with birds constantly landing, and taking off.(could of used an air traffic controller).these included gold finches, chickadees, doves, and juncos.al,and his wife are fantastic people, great hosts ,and i envy them, just beeing able to sit there and observe these birds whenever they please.i will certainly return for a visit when the weather is more favourable.
