This morning I saw a group of six blackbirds that I'm puzzled by. They flew in and landed in a tree, where I got a short look at them through my binoculars before they took off again.
They had the shape and size of Red-winged Blackbirds, which was what I thought they were at first, but some of them was a bit too brownish for Redwings. Unfortunately I didn't notice any eye-stripe or bright eye before they took off, so I'm not sure if they could be Rusty. I have never seen Rusty Blackbirds before, so any thoughts from someone with more experience would be appreciated.
