here,s some more photos of this semi-tame male kestrel,at colonel sam smith park yesterday. he,s very photogenic.also met member sue,s hubbie there,also playing with his new photo toys.i was trying my new 400 f/5.6 lens with ID mark 11. hand held
this is a 90% crop. no noise reduction!

yeah! the lens is nice,but with no image stabilization,i,m gonna need a monopod to steady things a bit. sure beats lugging the 500,and tripod around,if there,s lot of walking involved.

thanks guys.
you get there and there,s no kestrel.all of a sudden he appears,when he sees people,in his area. yes the same trees,although he was a few hundred ft away last time i was there.very strange!
