Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress.  Laugh, eat, be merry.  Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.

Just open an account at Flickr, its free for the first 200 pics. Then just copy and past the image in from the image link that is on the pic at Flickr.

its like watching my grandmother trying to use a remote control :)

let's solve this one step at a time.

1. where is the file? i.e. is it on your computer or did you upload it to a photo site like Photobucket or Flickr? if its on your desktop, you cannot display it on this page. you need to upload it/create a new account on a photo website and upload it first.
2. looks like you aren't displaying a photo's location. it should be a website e.g. http:///www.flickr.com/giantbirdpic.jpg . don't click on that link (i made it up). if you use photobucket, which is an easy site to use, after you upload a pic, it will give you options on the type of link you can use. choose the option with the square bracket, right-click your mouse, Copy the link and then just Paste it into this page (if you select the square bracket option it displays, you don't have to change anything when you post it on here)

answer these questions, take a deep breath, try it and you will laugh at how easy it is.

Don't be embarrassed.  I had a very hard time too.  I use Flikr.  You can open an account and after processing your pictures, upload them to Flikr.  Here you can view them yourself, share with friends, see in a slideshow, etc.

When you want to upload a picture on this forum, you need to double click on the picture and select the "all sizes" button (which is across the top of the picture); then right click and select "properties".  From here you just copy the address from the properties line.  This is the link you need to insert here for people to see your picture.

You then start a new subject, select the "img" button; paste in your address from Flikr; select the "img*" button and you're in business.

Are you shooting in RAW or jpeg?  One of my problems initially was that I wasn't converting the RAW file.  Hope I'm not complicating things more.  Give it a try again and use the "Preview" button below to be sure your picture shows - you should see your pic in the message.

Good luck!

.

You cannot simply "drag & drop" a photo into a post.

You must upload it to a site like Photobucket.....and then post the [IMG] link.

There is no way around it.

easy way to think of this:

when you shut your computer off, the internet's still running.
so you can't point the internet to your computer (unless you are running your own server).
so you have to point the internet to a site that always has your picture displayed.

that's flickr, photobucket, etc.

cuz if you wanted the internet to have access to your computer at all time, there would be thousands of hackers that would be thanking you for that access :)
