A fellow birder/photographer and good friend to many of us, Ann Brokelman, has been busy over the past year photographing and blogging about a pair of nesting Red-tailed Hawks that are on the property where she works in Scarborough.  When news reached her that there were plans to level the area and build a library, Ann stepped in and saved the day for her feathered friends.

Way to go Ann, congratulations!!!  A wonderful story with a very happy ending.

A big round of applause for Ann!!!
That is fantastic news. It's nice to see
the city make a common sense decision. But it wouldn't have happened
without Ann Redtail!!!
Way to go Ann!!!

Well done, Ann.
Fighting this sort of thing requires a huge commitment of time & energy.
Kudos also to your councillor, for the vision to value nesting sites, to the Toronto forestry dept, and to the library for being flexible.
But all of these three need a resident to take the lead.
