RFI - Seed Stores in the GTA
on:
March 20, 2010, 06:11:14 AM
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me of any good "bulk" seed stores in the GTA?
We have our favorite bird store where we buy alot, but some seed we'd prefer to buy in bulk.
Thanks so much.

Places like Home Depot, Rona, Lowes etc all carry large (10kg+) bags of sunflower and mixed seed. I've bought my niger seed from Bulk Barn, Lowes or Metro - the grocery store, all 3 places are approx $1.70/lb, but Bulk Barn was only $1.29 this week.

If your definition of GTA extends east of Oshawa, the local grower here is Braggs Seed Farm just outside Bowmanville. You can buy by the... how big's your car?
We get a 50lb bag a week or so. They specialize in bird seed, have a much larger variety than you'll get at the box stores and they grow everything except the peanuts.
Tom.
