For the last number of years there has been a pair of peregrine who hang out around the church just west of Pape on the Danforth. They seem to migrate in the late fall, and each spring I hope they (I assume it's the same pair, or their offspring) make it back. I have seen them this year, most recently I spotted the male yesterday afternoon on the roof of the church (visible from the parking lot behind the church). I've seen the female going into a hole in the building across Danforth from the church (the one with the dentist in it). Perhaps she's nesting there...

I've been entertained over the past couple of years watching the two scaring the pigeons, and once watched as the male nailed a pigeon right over the Danforth - scattering feathers. Quite an amazing birding moment for me.

I, too popped around there yesterday about noonish and didn't see the Peregrines. But I had an opportunity to rediscover this beautiful church. I'll try again another time.
