Good evening

 Today produced some quality birds on The Spit as well as the usual species.

 This morning I found a Purple Sandpiper on Pipit Point, 2 Red-necked Grebes off Pipit Point, a Red-throated Loon and 3 Ring-necked Ducks in the sail boat bay.

 There are still American Wigeons and Hooded Mergansers out there along with lots of Redheads.

You forgot all the Buffleheads and Oldsquaws...lol

I saw about 7 Kestrels yesterday along with what had to be either a Rough Legged or a Sharp Shinned Hawk.  Unfortunately it was a little too far away to id or get a picture of.

I loved walking around there, plenty to see and enjoy and it was also nice seeing people enjoying the day!  I think I'll be heading back down there next Saturday a little earlier to enjoy the day.

The search for the elusive Long Eared Owl continues...

The Buffleheads and Long-tailed Ducks were covered under "usual species". My report was more for the winter listers and those species are common all over the area.

 7 Kestrrels sounds like a bit much. There are for sure 2 Kestrels on The Spit and of course they range the whole length of The Spit. Not saying you didn't see 7 Kestrels as anything is possible.

 Huge difference in size between Rough-legged and Sharp-shinned. There is juvenile Red-tauiled hanging around down there as it hunts The Spit and The Islands.
