I thought I would share this with you all, in case anybody may have an interest in this...  I received an e-mail from the Toronto Wildlife Centre a couple weeks ago stating that they are having an Open House on October 16th and 17th, from 9am to 6pm.  I am not certain what happens with an open house.  I assume some information seminars, tours of the centre and maybe meet some of their "guests".

I think this is a great opportunity for all wildlife lovers in the GTA to come see what the centre is all about.  Maybe you didn't know such a place existed?  They could use the help from anyone through volunteers, financial aid and other donations (blankets, food, cages possibly, etc...  I have misplaced my list).

I've been to the centre a few times over the summer, turning in a wounded Pigeon, borrowing a Squirrel cage to catch a badly injured Squirrel, and the latest being I brought a Blackpoll Warbler in who had flown into a wall.

One afternoon someone came in with 90 approx. migratory birds who were survivors of building/condo window accidents in the downtown area.

I read about a Beaver who was brought down from Muskoka about a month ago.  It seems he was shot in the face.  They had high hopes on rehabilitating/releasing him the last I heard.

So, I thought I would pass this on to those who might be interested.

I haven't seen anything on the website, but as I said, I got an e-mail, and an invite through snail mail.  I have been in contact with someone up there to clarify the hours of the Open House.

Here is the link to their website for address/directions and if you wish to contact them.

Thanks for the moment.
