I thought I would share this too.  A surprise I got in the mail the other week from Bird Studies Canada and their quarterly newsletter.  

I normally send a cd of photos from my Project Feeder Watch season when I submit my data in April of each year.  Of all the photos I shared, I didn't think a European Starling would be of notice.

Congrats - I love your feeder - can I ask where you got it?  You never know what's going to appeal to people.

It's a great feeder and cheap too!  $14.99 at Wild Birds Unlimited.  It holds probably half a kilo of peanuts in the shell.  The only thing though is that one must keep it away from the Squirrels for obvious reasons.  I have this set up on a pole about 18 ft in the air with a Squirrel baffler below.

The green one has been retired as of this month.  We got a shiny new red one now.
