I visited Ashbridge's Bay this morning, after reading yesterday's post on Ontbirds (thanks). The Harlequin Duck was close to shore due south of the parking area. This area is marked by large boulders that one has to peer over or between. I think it was an effective blind as the HD seemed skittish. It's a juvenile or female bird but has little white on the head other than the distinctive white circle behind and below the eye.
The Hermit Thrush was on the western point in the berry bushes. Look for the Northern Cardinals with which it was associating.
In addition to that, about two dozen Common Redpolls were feeding in the area. They were very restless and didn't allow a sustained search for a Hoary.
