Hi folks,
Has anyone visited the Toronto Islands lately? Was it very birdful? i.e., where there many winterducks about? Anything else of note?
Thanks in advance for any information you might have...
Best,
David B.

Go to the Ontario Birding website at   http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/ONTB.html   and check out Norm Murr's posts. He frequents the Toronto Islands a lot and reports on that website. His latest post was Jan. 31.

to respond to my own query...
My birdwife and I visited the Toronto Islands yesterday. The walk around was more than pleasant, and all the usual winter waterfowl was seen, with the added highlight of 4 or 5 white-winged scoters, and GBB gull, and one that I'm pretty sure was a young Glaucous, but I'll have to post the pics and let you gull experts have a look...
I guess the Island is known mostly as a spring and fall hotspot for migrants?
Best to you all,
David B.

hello, egret! named after my favorite of birds are you!
The Rectory was just closing; we couldn't get a sandwich. We were too late!
If there were bathrooms, I was lucky and didn't need them and didn't see them?

Thanks
David B.
