A nice day at Rondeau today with more tolerable temperatures and a few nice birds. A Bald Eagle sitting in a tree near the road, a Great Black-backed Gull among Herring and Ring-billed and 13 Tundra Swans passing by calling. All three were firsts for the year for me. Also seen were a Hairy Woodpecker, many Common Mergansers and at least one Common Goldeneye (the ducks were very far out as there was ice closer to shore so they were difficult to identify). At the feeders at the Visitor Centre were 1 Tufted Titmouse, several Chickadees, two White-breasted Nuthatches, a Downy Woodpecker and an American Goldfinch.

On the way there about 10 Horned Larks (there were about 250 last week and 20 Snow Buntings, but I guess with the milder weather they are not coming to the roads as much) and 5 deer on the way home.
