Today was an interesting day, saw my first redpolls but unsure if they are common or hoary (will post pics for ID) while they were feeding the Shrike showed up and on the Lake there was a Trumpeter Swan with a tag of E24 which I have already reported to the Wye Marsh folks.

Also saw two Red-Tailed hawks near the parking lot/meadow area-sorry no pics of them today!

I found it strange the Trumpeter was swimming with a group of Mute Swans.

Irene.

Hi Irene, it is odd that the Trumpter would be keeping such company with the Mutes as, normally, those Mutes are rather possessive of their turf; however, it's not nesting season so perhaps they are feeling a little less so.
Were you able to see the number on the Trumpter's yellow tag?  If so, you should report it to the Wye Marsh people who always appreciate people doing that.
Your Flickr photos are great, by the way.

I always report them :) and I love it that the guy calls me back with a history of the swan and where its been etc..

Thanks for the compliment on the photos, I noticed that with time I am slowly improving, maybe more focused (or something lol)
Presently I am printing some photos and making a home made booklet out of them (not published or anything like that) maybe..one day :)
