Saw this guy going to town on a tree just east of the Colborne Lodge parking lot today.  Quite a sight!!

Also saw 4 Wood Ducks among the Mallards and Canada Geese in the pond in the southeast corner of the park.

Belted Kingfisher there as well.  2 Red Tailed Hawks made a pass.  I understand from the people at the High Park Nature Centre that the Hawks are residents with a nest in the northeast corner of the park.  Robins, Grackles and Red Winged Blackbirds everywhere.

Great day!

There are always nesting wood ducks in the ponds near the "castle playground" east side of High Park. Also on the Grenadier Pond west side but they stay further out on the water more often. The ones in the little ponds are outrageous flirts! enjoy.

Here's a link to a map of high park.  I saw the ducks in the more northerly of two ponds (near the little neck in the middle) in the southeast corner of the park.  Saw a pair in a tree today, and on the grass the near the ponds.  I'll post the pics if anyone is interested.
