Incredible camera work.  Nice to hear that theres more than one to find in that location.  Should make life a bit easier for teh rest of us.  I have seen Plieated woodpeckers at the Toronto Zoo on teh concrete walkway down from the African pavilion.  I didn't have anything better than a 150 zoom so I wasn't able to get near close enough for a decent shot, but it is such a beautiful bird.

Thank you. I'll definitely be a regular visitor to the park now. There's also a pair of Red Tails who hunt around the golf course beside it. I would think they come over there as well since it's right beside it. I've seen the pair of them sitting in a tree beside the 401 Yonge St. bridge (was on the north side). They were there last year as well. Had a young one go for a squirrel right in front of me on a walk through the golf course. I've photographed them a few times now but haven't been able to get a decent shot off yet. This was them sitting beside the highway a couple weeks back.

Just keeps getting better and better. Keep those photos coming in. What photo gear are you using?

Thanks Bruce. At the moment I'm using a Canon RebelXT (soon to upgrade to the 30D) with the 300mm F4 L IS Prime lens.

Theres a guy that I talk to regularly on a photography board that uses the same lens with a 2x teleconverter with great success.  If you want to try it out or at least raead about his techniques let me know and I will PM you the forum address.

And once again great shots.

Yes, the Wood Ducks were from High Park. First time I've been that close to them. Beautiful.
