Hey

just got back from My parents house... We spent the night at the Great Wolf Lodge and visited my parents before heading home..

This morning there was a nice white blanket of snow on the ground and nasty winds blowing.

We started our trip at the Whirlpool 1:00 pm

I spotted a Golden crowned kinglet at the whirlpool car ride viewing area.. was tiny and landed only a few feet from us.

Along the Niagara parkway South  of the falls the Break wall was underwater.

Between Welland River and Fort Erie Many (100's) Buffleheads, Common Mergansers and Red Breasted Mergansers.

The dominant gull today was the "Bonaparte's". They were everywhere South of the falls right to lake Erie

I decided to check out a few other places today so I headed south on Pt. Abino rd from hwy 3 right down to the bay and was very surprised to find

again a few Buffleheads and  even more Red Breasted mergansers in the (100's)

I even checked out Sherkston Quarry, more Mergansers ..

Same story in Gravelly Bay Port Colborne. Plus a Kinglet along Cement Rd. Port Colborne

We left for home around 6:00 pm

spotted

1 Northern Harrier (MY FIRST) at hwy 140 and Forks rd Port colborne :D

 multiple Redtails

4 GB Herons (pond) Hwy 140 Just south of Main Street tunnel in Welland.

4 Buffleheads in Lake Gibson hwy 406 (surprisingly empty)

2 swans (type unknown)  pond RH  side of QEW prior to Burlington bridge-Toronto bound
