Canon 400mm f5.6 lens - please help, good folks!

Not mine - it is a scan of a large size print that the Chinese gentleman presented to me. (I do have his permission to scan and show though).

The print actually looks much better then the scanned jpg.

I assume you have already bought the 400MM but another thought.........the 100 to 400MM zoom although some people have mentioned "soft focus"....it depends on the lens you get...some are better than others...also the zoom has the advantage that you can shoot insects and other things up to 4 feet away...something you can't do with the 400 prime.

I heard that canon stopped production of the 100-400mm . If it's true then maybe look for a used one .
