As the sun broke and the humidity rose, the birds gathered at the edge of the Rouge River in Scarborough for a quick bath.  Other birds that came down to frolic were Red-winged Blackbirds, Brown-headed Cowbirds and a Song Sparrow.  This all took place within the span of 3-4 minutes.

American Goldfinches

Cedar Waxwings

Rose-breasted Grosbeak

American Robin

Wow! That's a popular bathing spot. My driveway has a sloping hollow area near the curb which always collects water. Occasionally, it becomes a bathing area for our local birds and, oddly enough, it's the only time I see American Goldfinches around my house.
