I counted 80 Cliff Swallow nests on the south building of the RL Clark Filtration Plant this evening.  I think that's up from last year.  I didn't make notes   but I think there were less than 70 last year about this time.  I'm guessing that by this time of year there are no more nests still under construction so I didn't count partially built ones.

There still appears to be one active Red-necked Grebe nest at Sam Smith Park.  It's in flooded bushes so hopefully they lay & hatch some eggs before the water level drops.

Other species I was surprised to see were Field Sparrow and Eastern Kingbird.  I don't know of either species breeding there, but if they're around at this time of year you have to wonder.
