We'd seen a common loon at Humber Bay and then walking in High Park we heard it! Excitement, energy, passion... the northern lakes in downtown T.o ! Then as we turned the corner we saw one of the park workers making the call... he's really good at it but it ain't no loon.

If you hear a loon at this time of year, and you're not at the lake, try looking up.  It's not uncommon to find them flying overhead near the lake.  The best way to pick them out from a duck or a cormorant in flight is that their feet trail past their tail.  I didn't see any flying, but there were several on the lake by Sam Smith Park today.
