It's tough trying to photograph hummingbirds when they are being chased all over the yard by swarming yellowjackets (not to mention how tough it is on the birds!) but when I told my lady love I was going to buy a wasp/hornet trap she said, "no way, you can buy another feeder but surely you're smart enough to eradicate the hornets yourself", so...I took a small (500ml) plastic water bottle, punched a ring of holes about two inches from the bottom and filled the bottom with high concentrate nectar. I hung it beside the feeder and within ten minutes it was full of angry hornets! It's on a tether so before leaving for the afternoon I slid it about a foot further away from the feeder and since arriving home my hummingbirds have been coming at about one minute intervals and feeding very peacefully. Patent pending... :)
