Hi everyone,

I'm back in Toronto for a few days so I thought I'd hit my favoured spots. A quick visit to the pond on Reesor Road (having found my way round the road closure) resulted in Trumpeter Swan, a green wing-tagged Great Egret and what I guess is the usual supporting cast of G & L Yellowlegs, Caspian Terns, etc.

I started early this morning at Cranberry Marsh - nothing spectacular but very pleasant birding. A couple of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, three Wilson's Snipe, several good fly-bys from a Northern Harrier and a late (?) Yellow Warbler added interest to the various eclipse waterfowl and moulting Swamp Sparrows.

We took a visit downtown this-afternoon stopping off at Evergreen Brick Works where there was Spotted Sandpiper, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Least Flycatcher, a couple of Chimney Swifts, single Purple Martin and a few other bits and pieces.

I think we're off to Muskoka for a day so if anyone has any suggestions for where the current hotspots for shorebirds and/or warblers are, drop me a line! I have till Sunday :( and then it's back to Chicago for a week.

Good birding!

Dave
