That's true though that appears to be a warning snarl rather then an "attack" one.

He's probably as afraid as the one he is trying to frighten away.

Years ago I found 3 very very small baby raccoons on the side of the road...they were palm sized (it was May)...I figured that mother had probably been killed on the road and these 3 little guys had been driven in hunger from the nest...I stopped to gather them up....2 scampered as fast as their small weak legs could carry them but the 3rd attacked my pant leg...growling fiercely and hanging on...he / she gave the other two time to disappear in the tall grass and it was all I could do to free my pantleg.
