70+ raptors continued to move through Rosetta McClain Gardens today.  Check out the blog at: http://raptorwatch.blogspot.com/

In addition 5000+ Bluejays were seen heading south west along the bluffs.  2400+ Monarchs per hour were counted from about 9am to 2pm moving along the bluffs!

Cedar waxwings, Goldfinches and RW Blackbirds also flying by!

Cheers Terry

WOW what a day..record numbers of raptors were seen today. A group of about 30+ watchers saw over 1300 raptors,a record number(1305). We had a record number of Merlins at 10,American Kestrels at 233 and record number of Turkey Vultures at 774. Walter was going mad recording the birds as they passed. 11 Bald Eagles and 11 Ospreys were seen respectively. In all 13 of our normal 15 raptors were seen, the only missing 2 were Golden Eagle and Roughlegged Hawk. Awesome..terrific..entire body aching after 11 hours of raptor watching!

Anyone hoping to see a big day, should keep an eye on Tuesday and possibly Wednesday. There are lots of birds still to come. Turkey Vultures have only just begun and Redtailed Hawks havent really begun to move as yet. Keep your eyes to the skies and if U head out to your favorite hawk watch site, dress warm. Wear everything U think U need, then take a few things U dont think U will need.

It's supposed to get warmer and warmer the next bunch of days, hitting 23c by Saturday.  But the cool mornings are something else to keep in mind.  I'm off for four days this coming weekend so I hope to spend a morning out there with you guys.
