White Crowned Sparrow

First time visitor to the backyard; an immature white-crowned sparrow has been checking out all the activity at the feeders.  Not going to the feeders themselves, but certainly content to hop around on the ground picking up remnant seed.  Was a bit tricky to ID at first as it's a juvenile, not yet sporting the "white-crown", but has a very distinctive orange-y stripe flanked by russet on the crown.

Been seeing a few in my yard too (East Brampton) The head pattern is quite striking!

Nice to hear they're back in the city. I get both white crowned and white throated sparrows in late spring but I've never seen them in my backyard in the fall. Hope this year is different! Really miss my hummingbirds! :)
