Holy Turkey Vultures and others today!

I guess with the strong winds, migration was on the move for many Turkey Vultures and others.

I was heading north on Hwy 427 around 9am today when 30+ TV's were passing the Woodbine Racetrack and crossing the highway...  and quite low too!  I was trying to get a good look and count, and almost crashed the SUV...  doh!

My destination was Claireville Conservation Area and it was non-stop TV's passing over me.  Two here, four there, and I lost count over the next couple hours.  Two American Kestrels passed as well with one landing on a wire for a break.  Spotted a couple Red-tails.  And something else I am not exactly sure about.  It glided fast passed me.

The photos suck because of the sketchy sky and I was just too into watching all the action.   I will try to do something with my pics of the mystery raptor and post soon.

So, with my decent sightings where I was.  I can only imagine what the people at the Hawk Watches along Lake Ontario were seeing.

As close as I could get to one of the Kestrels

Nice you gals can walk Marie Curtis Park without any fear.  I see a different kind of Vulture there, or rather, have seen.  My last visit was enough to make me never want to return.  If I didn't know better, I swear I saw Rob Ford naked in a bush just off the waterfront trail and he was yelling something to me which sure didn't sound like "Vote for me!"

Back to Turkey Vultures ... one flew past my livingroom window this morning at 9:55am, heading North.  He looked at me, smiled and winked - flirtatious fellow!  This guy has flown by the window once before.

I chose the ignore option with the poor man who lost his clothes.  He did get a profanity-filled verbal thrashing by another moments later.

Oh Jo-Anne, don't tell your man, he might get jealous that a bird is after your heart.  But I am sure yours is as big as mine, to give to someone, and have much left over for a few birds.  Unfortunately the Turkey Vulture just might want to eat yours.

Rob sorry if i'm laughing but the girls are not that safe either, about a month ago some 70+ male asked " are you looking for some fun sweetie?" really didn't please me at all, I politely declined and told him I was out to take pictures...
as for the "Rob Ford" looking guy...your lucky he just yelled...and not given you the "famous finger" as he has done with some folks while driving and using his cell phone.
Never go alone to the park especially the west side..they are trying to vamp up the park so that there will be fewer "incidents" it is taking some time to build...I have noticed that the dog park and parking lots are almost ready..
they are hoping that in the high hopes of "higher human traffic volumes" not sure how to phrase that...will stop the goings on in the park,

They are also building a BMX bike trail there, the kids in the neighborhood have somehow built one in the middle of the forest and the parents are always worried, with moving/putting it out in the open where everyone can see and some folks can keep an eye on the kids from the appartments near by it will be much safer
I'm watching the changes, they are slow, but they are getting done
