Hey!

1) This afternoon near dusk a single White Breasted Nuthatch was using our tree to cache seeds from the  feeder.

2) Male Cardinal appears at dusk to feed every day.

3) Groups of Chickadee's ,Junco's, American Gold Finches and Jays in the neighbourhood during the day.

4) Coopers Hawk(s) have scouted and now are actively hunting Doves throughout the area making bold high speed passes thru the yard.
     Saw two Coopers on Saturday.

Was a little weird today in Milton, just before it started snowing it sounded like spring

with all the Robin's singing :? .

I counted 14 Robin's and near 30 Cedar waxwings.  My wife was commenting

to me last week a male Cardinal was singing like it was spring.

Napper :)

p.s. Spent two days in Sudbury this week at a place overlooking Ramsey lake.
the lake was frozen yet there were still ducks  flying about also spotted a few Ring billed gulls.
Lots of Ravens and crows, Spotted 1 Pileated woodpecker on the way
North Just outside of Sudbury. The Drive home Tuesday night was miserable.

Overwhelmingly I have jays at the feeders...est. 15 to 20...occasionally a male cardinal and less frequently the missus...juncos but not as many as in past years...a few bcc's...the american tree sparrow we used to get has been absent for 2 years now...and once a few weeks ago there were 3 or 4 american gf's....if it weren't for the jays I'd say it was a scene out of Rachel Carson's book....
