Hey Folks,
For those of you who love to watch and photograph Snowy Owls and those of you who have never had the chance to see/photograph a Snowy, this year is shaping up to be what those in the know call an irruption year.
I have been lurking on a number of bird sites all over southern ontario and across the pond in the U.S.
There is no less than 30 Snowies being seen on a daily basis between Whitby and those passport protected birding areas of New York State. All along the shores of Lake Ontario.
So 30 birds within 2 hours is pretty impressive. This doesn't include the birds being spotted farther from the lake like in the usual area of Keswick and other regular wintering areaa There is also a large amount of them in and around the Ottawa area, if one chooses to venture that far.
So if there was ever a year to see them, it looks like this will be one hell of a winter for them
