Bluebirds in the yard on this lovely Mid-January day.......  :)

Thrown in for good measure is a Downy Woodpecker happily drumming........

I think I put the lawn furniture away too early......  8)

(Glen Williams / Terra Cotta area)

Send them over to this side of the river, I was just thinking today it's time to see something more interesting then gold finches and house finches. Very slow winter over here. But we have been having  a Red Bellied woodpecker daily for the past three weeks.

Thanks HH
They arrived today!! Three of them, that I saw, flitting about. Ate at the suet then checked out all our nesting boxes, Mr. and Mrs. spent a long time examining the interior of one in particular. I'm happy that they at least "consider" living here but sure they won't stay lol.

Also had three Purple Finches show up today.

Bluebirds have wintered over in Ruthven Park, Cayuga and also in the Kortright Centre in Vaughan.

Now I got the new lens, I really want to see some Bluebirds!

Lucky you guys to have them on your properties!   :D

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.

Good things come to those who wait......  :D

RKD......you just might get lucky this year and end up with a nesting pair......  8) .......hope the wrens let them be.

Rob......won't be too long before the Bluebirds show up in numbers.......I'm sure you will get some good shots with the new lens......  8)

Only a month or so before the Redwinged Blackbirds start returning......a light at the end of the tunnel.

Looking forward to ordering my 10,000 meal worms for the Bluebirds......

It'll be nice to see this in real time again....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUWNVp9No3A

Guess I'd better start looking for a helmet since the male RWBB get so much enjoyment out of pecking the back of my head!
