Quiet morning at Col Sam Friday but found this guy right at one of the most southern tips of the park.  Shocked me for a second since he looks a lot like my cat.  Then I felt a moment of sadness seeing this feral.  But despite the bitter temperatures along the lake, he sure looks content out there.

can someone tie me a noose? quick? I'll grab a chair. and met me in the kitchen.

I know there are people caring for such colonies but this image just ruined my day. Not your fault ***  :?
Emotions are across the board as our cat was the exact same & passes 4yrs back on my brothers birthday. Story too much to repeat.

Why do morons not fix their animals? each human shall be either castrated or branded on the forehead with their pets name. and image in clear detail., the whole skull.

I  used to work beside a 10-20 cat colony and a lady and man that worked and lived next door to a pile od tires, respectively fed them, and trapped the majority & fixed them.

Humans are brutal. but we also posses the ability to do great things.

Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress.  Laugh, eat, be merry.  Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.

Hard to say where the cat came from.

Ya, lots of bad pet owners out there.

Cat was fine with me near him.  It was only when an off-leash dog came charging at him did he disappear into a hole between the rocks right near the water.

I thought the pics were interesting and might move a "cat lover".

It would not be the first time finding stray/feral cats at Sam Smith,
last summer someone dumped two kittens WITH the carrying case and there were several open tins of catfood surrounding the carrying case...I scooped up the kittens and the case and took them to the animal shelter on the West Mall.
they couldn't have been more then 6 months old. If I wasn't allergic I would have kept them.
There is an orange cat that frequents the park as well but is much older, not sure if he's a stray or a local just out for a jaunt. I caught him hunting mice in one of the fields

We ended up with one living under our deck last summer. I wondered why his ear was missing a piece. We named him Minus  :)   I found out the feral cat program does that for I.D purposes so they don't waste time catching them twice.

Took some coaxing but he now lives with us. Didn't want to see him stuck outside in the cold. He's turned out to be a great cat and he's very grateful of the love and attention he now gets.

Great story Mike!

My Grandma took strays in all the time.  And most were quite appreciative and had no desire to go back outside after.

We have a few friends who volunteer with the Toronto Cat Rescue, bringing in feral kittens and "re-habilitating" them.  It takes a lot of work with some of the cats, and it hurts them at times because one cannot help but get attached to them...  but in the end, when they get adopted, it's all been worth it.  And a few days later, a new batch shows up.
