Hi everyone. Woke up today to "Winter Wonderland" and my first thought was "it's not going to be a good count day" ... and wasn't.

But ... had to try ....
So, went tromping through about 3" of snow at Maplewood Park from 7:30-9:30am. The first hour was bad and I almost went home but decided to try one more walk around the park.
Total # of species: 6
Total # of birds: 61
Sighted:
Mourning Dove
American Crow
Black-capped Chickadee
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Northern Cardinal
House Sparrow
Sadly disappointing, especially with no hawks or woodpeckers. The good: beautiful scenery and lots of snow coming down while walking plus lots of paw prints in the snow - dog, rabbit and squirrel.
At one point, caught a very strong scent of Skunk and was looking around wondering where the Skunk is. Turns out, it was a woman that had walked behind me smoking a joint.
