Today at High Park a Virginia Rail was calling from the marshes north of Grenadier Pond. This bird has been reported on eBird every day for the past few days, so credit to those brave eBirders for finding it. Too bad it's utterly impossible to see it.
A Black-crowned Night Heron was hiding in the low reeds at the south-west end of the Pond, and at least five Pied-billed Grebes were swimming around on the lake.
