today in Downsview Park I saw...
4 Eastern Meadowlarks
1Northern Mockingbird
3 American Kesterals
4 Mourning doves
2 Red Tailed Hawks
x American Robins
x Starlings
x Canada Goose
At one point a Kesteral was chasing a Red tailed hawk around the park. I am also about to go and check up on 5 bird boxes that were put up in a woodlot last week. They are designed for small song birdws that live in woodlots or forests, hopefully we will get some use even though they were put up a bit late in the season. If I have some time I am going to try and build a Kesteral box and some blue bird/swallow boxes. If any one has any extra boxes or wants to make their own and put it up in the park let me know and we can work somethng out (I can give you good plans, all you need is plywood and screws).
