As usual its been a fun spring with birds coming and going with no end to the surprises, I hope all of you are enjoying it as much as I am.

So far the only warblers I've seen have been yellow-rumps, pine and palm but after a 6 month break they're pretty glorious to behold in their spring finery.

Other sightings include:

-1 Virginia rail- from the viewing platform @ Second Marsh
-2 E. Meadowlarks @ Second Marsh- nice to get close to 'em for a change
-a half dozen blue-gray gnatcatchers @ W. Side Marsh
-blue-winged teal @ Cranberry and West Side Marshes- they've been pretty scarce this year
-1m 1f E. bluebird @ Long Sault
-2m harlequin ducks @ Ontario Shores- one adult male... what a glorious male and the second it just coming into his adult finery
-6 brown thrashers- they're all over
-2 little gulls and dozens of bonaparte's all @ Second Marsh as well as Caspian and common terns
-1 black-crowned night heron @ Second Marsh
-the not-so-little GHO in its nest with mom keeping an eye on things nearby @ Thicksons
-red-shouldered and coopers hawks @ Long Sault
-ruffed grouse @ Long Sault
-a juvenile coopers that has been regularly patrolling Thicksons
-red head, wood ducks, wigeons, pb grebes, coots, ring-necked ducks and N. shovelers continue to be seen @ Cranberry on a regular basis
-1 very late m snowy owl -I watched him from the osprey berm @ West Side for close to a minute before it took off westwards
-1 greater yellowlegs @ Second Marsh
-a half dozen winter wrens all in Thicksons

Cheers and Happy birding
Tim

They're all in the eastern end of the GTA from Whitby east to Bowmanville. I have no idea why this was moved to the the Southern Ontario board but its the second time its happened.

Kinda odd if you ask me.
