The hydro corridor west of Altona Rd. between Sheppard and Finch hosted
a group of Eastern Bluebird. They were hard to get near without resorting
to technique that I wasn't quite prepared for. Another time perhaps.

North on Altona Road from Kingston Rd.
Pass Sheppard/Twyn Rivers
Make a left at Old Finch,
west on Old Finch and south again on the first street,
which is closed except for local traffic but go down it anyway.
You will see a hydro corridor on both sides of that road
(the road is called either called Pinegrove or Woodview, can't recall).
Pull over and park, then walk the hydro path (gravel). I was on the
western corridor. That path leads west all the way to the
Beare wetland (part of Rouge park system). Crosses a
railway line on the way to Beare.

The bluebirds were half way between where you pulled
over and the railway line much farther west. You can see
the big Beare hill to the north - separated from the hydro
corridor by a chain-linked fence.

You can also come from the south but that is too complicated
to explain because of the subdivision's complexity.

At first I thought it is close to Finch and Sheppard, it seems it's around Rouge park then. Thank you so much. I hope my GPS can get me there if not today, then maybe over this weeknd. Cheers,

Hydro corridor previously described still hosted four Eastern Bluebirds this afternoon.
There were also large flocks of Cedar waxwing.

The red spot is a children playground where you can park.
There is a path through a woodlot starting at the west side
of the playground. This path goes through the woodlot and
leads to the hydro field. Follow the white line to get to the
hydro corridor path. The bluebirds hang around the yellow
part of the walkway. The white line west of that leads
to the Beare wetland (Rouge).

Late to the game but the location of these birds is the same hydro corridor that will make up the The Meadoway; project being led by TRCA. You can learn more about the restoration project that will link downtown TO to Rouge Park here: https://themeadoway.ca/
