Excellent set of images. I also dropped by the park shortly after 8:30. I went straight to Pipit Point hoping that yesterday's Yellow-breasted Chat would linger an extra day - of course it didn't. However, saw a few shorebirds and assortment of warblers. On the way back I noticed how crowded the park became in few hours that I was there - everybody was out to enjoy the new-found freedom.
i was lucky 3ish years ago when the chat spent the day at Ashbridges and gave spectacular views. too much to see in the wet woods to take the hike to P Point.
i went early to beat out the rain and birders. i left at 10 because it was not crowded but there were a few birders that clearly did not respect or understand social distancing. like, don't stand in the middle of a path with your 2 friends so people can't comfortable get by. or giving someone 2 ft of space to walk by instead of stepping into the clearing behind you? not cool.
originally, i was just not going to go today due to the likely presence of dummies. next day i'll go will be a weekday.
