Very lovely... the wood ducks @ High Park are just so much more approachable than elsewhere.

I think maybe they acclimate to having people around them there, I was there the day before and they were a little shy  and then the next day they were a little more bold.

Steve & Niloc, thanks for the heads-up, I headed over this aft, the sun was at their back but I managed a few nice ones. I've wanted to get a nice detailed shot of these beauties for SOO long but in other places they don't let people nearly as close. Such gorgeous ducks!

Mathew really nice shots, I know what you mean about the lighting, heading out sometime tomorrow to try and get closer I don't have the reach like you guys do lol, the first pic is my favorite the colour, clearity and your POV all work, thanks for sharing!

The a.m. is a better bet if they're in the same neighbourhood. My suggestion is to set yourself up where they may pass and stay low and avoid moving too much. They're not as skiddish if you keep a low profile, then just wait for them to arrive. Keep your eyes out for a Nightheron of some sort in the trees too!

I was so happy to just see them and snap a few, I've got in-flight wood duck shots from ~100 meters before but nothing from this close... These ones are tame compared to wilder places.
